Mornings on the water

The first freddo of the day on the ledge, next to the pot of basil. The sea is still calm and the blue floor still cool. From early on we serve coffee, brunch and sweet crêpes, for anyone who likes the day to start slowly.

The kitchen

What the sea brings, what the grill fires

Home cooking with the patience of the pot, charcoal for the octopus and the meats, fresh seafood and seasonal vegetables. Tastes of Greece, the way they taste at a family table.

The house

A white house with a blue floor

Whitewashed walls, white pergolas and a floor painted the blue of the Aegean. Inside, mint-green wooden tables, fuchsia cushions and rattan lamps. Glass walls all around, so the sea is never out of sight.

Our story

A name from the sea

On 20 October 1827, in the bay of Navarino at Pylos, the fleets of Britain, France and Russia defeated the Ottoman-Egyptian fleet. The battle opened the way to Greek independence. Almost two hundred years later the name is still travelling, all the way here, to a house on the water.

Evenings

When the sea turns emerald

At dusk the lights beneath the water come on and the bay in front of us glows green. A little later, the moon rises over the Corinthian Gulf.
